BODHISATTVA AND THE BEAMER
Copyright © Susan Werner
Description: Guitar

Fresh off the plane he was
In from India
With a shaved head and a red robe
He felt how changed he was
Since he'd been to India
To study with the master

And his old friend Stu in a new convertible
Met him at the curb
And his old friend Stu said
"Hey how'd you like to drive
Bodhisattva?"

So he took the wheel awhile
Drove it down Sunset Boulevard
Without benefit of Ray-Bans
He felt the smooth transmission
As he cruised the boulevard
And all that horsepower in his hands

And his old friend Stu just smiled like a millionaire
Which he happens to be
And his old friend Stu said
"Mm, handles like a dream, huh
Bodhisattva?"
The Bodhisattva and the Beamer

And as he drove he watched his thoughts roll by
Like clouds in the California sky
Watched his feelings rise and fall
Like he used to watch the Dow

The car was a German masterpiece
He felt a strong desire
Then he simply let it go

A sidewalk cafe with pretty girls
He felt a strong desire
Blonde Swedish looking girls
He felt a strong desire
They were in skirts and heels
He felt a strong desire
They had seventy miles of leg
He felt a strong desire
Then he simply let it go

And his old friend Stu just stared at him 'cross the seat
Like he's someone he'd never met
And his old friend said
"Hey what's come over you
Rick?"
