BLUE

Description: Guitar

Drove up from Rhode Island
Morning fog was on the bay
I took a room near the harbour
Where society plays

I laid my keys on the table
I laid myself down and cried
I woke up late in the evening
And walked out under the sky

It seemed so far in the distance
Like it up and left me too
Gone a deep and desperate blue

Wandered down to the shoreline
Looked out over the sea
Any hint of horizon
There's a painter in me

But I don't care for this colour
I don't care for the light
I don't care for my angle
On the ocean tonight

It just seemed so far in the distance
Like it up and left me too
Gone a deep and desperate blue

There's a fly on the ceiling
There's a clock on the wall
There's the two honeymooners
In the room down the hall

And they laugh after midnight
And they rock the bed
Like there's no one to hear them
Might have been them instead
We might have been them instead

But now you're so far in the distance
Since you up and left me too
In this deep
And desperate blue
