BAD AT LOVE
Copyright © Susan Werner
Description: Guitar

So we've been thinking 'bout it haven't we
There comes a moment with someone new
When you're wondering should or shouldn't we
Do the thing we should or shouldn't do
And that little matter of a broken heart
Comes waltzing up across your memory
Just to say remember when
Why go through that again
Love is misery

Oh but everybody's bad at love
We're all mad at love
Always disappoints us in the end
But there's no mistaking that we came for love
Maybe we need another name for love
Couldn't we agree to be the most intimate of friends

And I won't call you every half an hour
Or make you centre of my universe
And you won't need me at your beck and call
Or need to know the contents of my purse
We won't get hustled into real estate
We won't get strangled by a wedding ring
And if a wedding ring appears
We'll keep it for a year
And then exchange the thing

Oh 'cos everybody's bad at love
We're all mad at love
Always disappoints us in the end
But there's no mistaking that we came for love
Maybe we need another name for love
Couldn't we agree to be the most intimate of friends

Hey 'cos everybody's bad at love
Mm we've all had it with love
Always on the make or on the mend
So if we're about to fall in love
Could we agree to never call it love
Couldn't we agree to be the most intimate of friends
Couldn't we agree to be the most intimate of friends
