AFRAID OF L.A.

Description: Guitar
I paid six hundred dollars for three extra hours of light on a westbound plane
Slept very well in this four-star hotel where everyone calls me by name
Look at me knocking on wood
Nothing's as bad as it getting too good
And as good as it's been, we'll be feeling the big one tonight
Oh I'm afraid of L.A. and the sun and the wind in my hair
I'm afraid of L.A. and the sidewalk cafes and the beautiful view in Bel Air
I'm going back to the dark and the cold
Back to the business of growing too old
I'll be leaving L.A. before I find some trouble again
They sat me beside you to see what I hide
In the face of the tender and tough
Your smile was as wide as I'm frightened inside
Of the guys who can love me enough
Your eyes were so steady and slow
They locked on me and they didn't let go
And I was packing for home in my head for the rest of the night
Yeah 'cos I'm afraid of L.A. and the sun and the wind in my hair
I'm afraid of L.A. and the sidewalk cafes and the beautiful view in Bel Air
I'm going back to the dark and the cold
Back to the business of growing too old
I'll be leaving L.A. before I find some trouble again
Just give me my three thousand miles
I can swim in your eyes, I can sink in your smiles
And I'll send you the letter tomorrow that says
I'm afraid of L.A. and the sun and the the wind in my hair
I'm afraid of L.A. and the sidewalk cafe and the beautiful view in Bel Air
I'm going back to the dark
Back to the business of growing too old
I'll be leaving L.A. before I find some trouble again
I'll be leaving L.A. before I fall for someone again
